No professional advice
This website provides general educational information for Canadian families. It is not financial, tax, legal, accounting, investment, immigration, or education-planning advice.
RESP Guide Canada cannot decide whether a specific provider, account type, contribution schedule, investment, withdrawal, transfer, or tax choice is suitable for a reader. Personal decisions should be reviewed with the relevant government program, RESP promoter, licensed financial professional, accountant, lawyer, or tax adviser where appropriate.
Source hierarchy
When a page explains a government rule, the official source controls. Preferred sources include Canada.ca, the Canada Revenue Agency, Employment and Social Development Canada, Revenu Quebec, provincial government pages, and current provider documents. If this site conflicts with an official source, use the official source and report the issue through the contact page.
Rules, limits, program eligibility, forms, fees, grant support, and provider procedures can change. Check the linked source and the review date before acting.
Provider and investment limits
Provider profiles and comparisons are neutral education notes, not recommendations, endorsements, rankings, or statements that a provider is best for a family. A provider's inclusion on the site does not mean the provider is available to every reader or supports every grant, province, investment product, transfer, or withdrawal request.
Investment examples are simplified illustrations. They do not predict returns and do not remove market, inflation, liquidity, currency, fee, tax, or timing risk.
Calculator and estimate limits
Calculators and examples use assumptions to make RESP tradeoffs easier to understand. Actual grants, returns, taxes, school costs, contribution room, and withdrawal outcomes may differ. Do not use a calculator result as a guarantee or as personal advice.
Translation limits
English is the primary reviewed language. AI-assisted draft translations may contain errors or miss Canadian legal, tax, financial, or regional terminology. When details conflict, use the reviewed English page and official government sources.
Advertising and affiliate boundary
Advertising is not currently enabled on RESP Guide Canada. If ads, sponsorships, or affiliate relationships are added later, they should be disclosed and kept separate from editorial conclusions. A provider should not be able to buy a recommendation, ranking, profile, or favourable comparison.
